When you think of the five skills that players must excel at on the ice if they want to reach the highest levels of performance, you probably think of skating, shooting, passing, stick-handling and checking. But these are NOT the things that are going to make you a great player.

Players with great on-ice skills are “a dime a dozen”. It is your level of commitment OFF the ice that is going to set you apart.

Every player is going to work hard and try their best out on the ice when their coaches, parents and teammates are watching. But it is the choices you make when no one else is looking that are going to allow you to become the best player on the ice.

1) Mental Preparation

Do you choose to stay 100% focused during every practice and game (even though it is easy to be distracted)?

2) Nutrition

Do you choose to bring healthy snacks and meals with you on the road to tournaments (even though fast-food seems much more convenient)?

3) Physical Preparation

Do you choose to warm-up off the ice before every on-ice session (even though you would rather sit in the dressing room and catch up with your teammates)?

4) Hydration

Do you choose to carry a water bottle around with you at all times so that you can stay hydrated (even though your friends don’t do it)?

5) Recovery

Do you choose to take 10 minutes to stretch after each training session, practice and game (even though you and your parents just want to get home)?

When you look at each of these choices in isolation, none of them seem like they will have a dramatic effect on your performance. But each and every one of these seemingly “small” decisions that you make over the course of the season add up. So although you may see no harm in skipping the pre-game focusing session or post-game stretching routine today, those choices will negatively affect your performance tomorrow.

Becoming a great hockey player is a choice that you make and a lifestyle that you lead. You cannot just “turn it on” when you are at the rink and “turn it off” when you leave. Your commitment to proper preparation and recovery off the ice may not seem as important as your on-ice skill development, but it will make a huge difference in your ability to reach the next level of performance.

Well, apparently, men and women have a different definition of the word "fun". And when you yawn, I said it should respect its fun. I recalled that he never had to strive to meet the shopping cart. I think it's just something different sort.

Well, with all due respect, I have some hot tips for a bachelor party fun, in the sense of both sexes combined.

GroomChoice

You can add a name to him and whipped cream if you like, but the truth is that the groom does not want to participate in a night full breasts, alcohol, and the rude behavior of bash. And, it must be remembered that he and his girlfriend have talked about (believe me, they have), and his pain. So ask before doing something! This does not mean that will surprise, but a feeling for his bachelor party ideas police officers before going to take it to the track 69 Ask the guest listtoo.

A website bachelor party, which I visited recently said: The bride and groom probably spent every last penny on this marriage and that should really be able to help you develop the rest and enjoy sober. The legitimacy of mixed martial arts fighter by most as the UFC, and has been repeatedly questioned and revised since its inception in 1993. Many have said that the brutal tactics used in mixed martial arts barbaric and repugnant. So much controversy is this new style of fighting age around that Senator John McCain in the battle. The senator has made it his personal mission for the UFC and mixed martial arts fighting banned in America. Given his inability to do so, however,Yes, MMA is on the rise since then.

As a result of so much clamor, the question arises – MMA is really so dangerous? It's like saying the sport so many people as primitive and disgusting? I mean, there are clashes, but it is enough to justify a ban on a national scale? I personally do not think so. Here's why.

Mixed Martial Arts is just that – mixed. This is a collection of different kinds of struggles. The UFC has fighters from wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, JuiJitsu and Tae Kwon Do background. Nearly all Olympic sports. So, you wonder. If these sports are good enough to attract the best athletes from around the world to compete in an event that honors them as such, then why not a sport that encompasses all these styles to be good enough? The answer is, it should be good enough and it is.

Many people say that MMA and UFC is dangerous because there are children that fighting is wrong and even venerable sign. But the argumentis absolutely water-free. If we ban everything and no violence, you have wrestling, video games and, yes, would our beloved sports Olympic ban above. But because of how society is not prepared to abandon these things, there is no reason for MMA and UFC ugling duckling.

And, last but not least, as a measure of risk? I mean, poeple say that MMA is too dangerous, but what we are judged by thatDanger?

Could be injured?

No, this is absurd. MMA fighter, who rarely, if not all violations, to obtain. And if they do, the hospital stay is no more than a day. On the other hand, injuries in sport as "harmless" like football and ice hockey enjoy, every day, so that their athletes to put in a hospital bed for months, sometimes years.

Risk can be measured in terms caused by the sport at the annual number of death?

No, because as long as the UFC hasabout, there were no deaths. But on the other side of the token, deaths occur frequently in other major sports events a year. For example, in boxing, "beautiful" and "art" version of MMA, there were about 900 deaths since 1920. What is an average of almost 13 people a year. People say that these figures have declined significantly, as the sport was safer. Well, the same be said for the UFC. Each meeting is governed by the Nevada State AthleticCommission, the same organization that regulates boxing fights. In addition, the sport has developed in any case, since its inception. Well, unlike the early days, when he was virtually no taboos, UFC is a long list of CAN and cannot – a list that is a serious injury or death in every battle has been prevented.

So to say that MMA and the UFC and too dangerous barbarian is simply not true. The numbers speak for themselves. The fact that you can not like the face-in-your-,New Age style of fighting that the UFC promotes, is your problem. People knew the first two boxes. Football helmets, it was considered dangerous for the lack of padding and the leather used in the competition. But, like football, MMA has become a safe and challenging sport.

A look at the rough nature of equipment of the game was designed and developed to support the hockey player through the game. The devices can be classified into two categories, namely, protection and can not be considered protective. In addition to sticks and skates (non-) protective equipment, the players are playing with safety devices to prevent accidents. These include head protection, shin guards, chest protection, padded trousers, gloves, mouth guards, elbow pads,Shoulder pads and helmets, etc. Let's take a look at the equipment used by players General:

Helm

With sticks in the air all around, speeding pucks and players tumbling and falling all over, head protection in the case where this game is a must. Helmets come in two types, namely those players and those that are used by the goalkeeper. Goalie Helmets are usually heavier than the use of players.

Neck guards

NeckGuards are extremely necessary and is recommended not to give the player a track without wearing l '. Why? The only thing that comes to the neck, as well as to protect from flying sticks and pucks. A guard in the neck can restrict the movement of the neck. To counter this, a series of Slim hockey equipment manufacturers have with the guards of the neck, which are compact and flexible.

Epaulettes

Straps are necessary to avoid damagePucks, sticks and falls. Necessary? Yes, I? A number of players had to leave the game for more than a few seasons, when they went into practice without being on their shoulders. Slip a CD is not that far away, if you forgot to do.

Hockey Gloves

Hockey gloves of good quality are needed to provide optimum protection in hand. Most gloves are thin, with palms and fingers that more builtpadding the other side of the hands of charge. Gloves provide extra protection and support for the thumb and inhibit them from bending.

Greaves

Mouthguards

Shoes

This is by far the most important equipment for this game. You can not really play this game without a good pair, around you. Shoes are generally designed with a hard metal and are often reinforced with wire netting to prevent tooBlades cut. Ice skates are different from skating, so it can heal without feet. There are a lot more for hockey equipment, both for protection and not protection. Refer to online resources for more information.

When was the first hockey game on TV? More than half a century ago in the winter of 1940. A game at Madison Square Garden played has history written when the Rangers host the Canadiens. That night was the first time hockey fans at home the action taken on the wonderful new invention called television.

Not many fans, mind you, because the television was still in its infancy in 1940. There were only about 300 sets in all of New York City. Their screens became aonly 7 inches wide. Unbelievable, but there was only one camera to follow the game. The spokesman said Spring Waltz, although he preferred to use the name Bill Allen.

A dozen years later, during the 1952/53 season, the first ice hockey games in Canada were broadcast on television. The Montreal Canadiens have their first televised game from the Forum on 11 October 1952, and the Leafs TV debut took place three weeks later, on 1 November 1952.

Incredibly, the first manufacturer to MontrealHockey broadcasts was the 24-year-old sports editor of a newspaper Ottawa. Gerald Renaud applied and landed, although he had never seen television and had no idea how to produce a game on television. Hastily read a few library books on the subject and asked another CBC production, as there are people working, and finally a commendable job.

But televise hockey was not welcome with open arms by some league owners and executives. Many of them were afraid of the medium –would dramatically hurt ticket owner carried drawbacks could, for example, pay only one hundred U.S. dollars per game for TV rights for matches during Hockey Night in Canada's first season left. He wanted certain televise hockey would be in the best interest of his team before locking themselves are in a long term contract. At the same time, and NHL President Clarence Campbell took a jaundice view of television and called it "the greatest threat to the world of entertainment."

Hockey Tournament, you can be the highlight of your season. They give you a good opportunity to beat teams that you normally would not play against great competition and team spirit. But if you play 4-6 games in a 2-3 day period, tournaments can be simply tiring. With so much high-intensity play in such a short period, players need to ensure that it is doing what it can do to feel and play their best all weekend long.

Follow these 4 keysto ensure that your best tournament possible:

1) Drink lots of water

This is by far the most important advice I can give you about increasing performance in your next tournament to give. Hockey players do not drink enough water. While most of a decent job of sipping their water bottles during the game, it's the amount of water that they are in the alcohol between the games that will make the biggest difference in performance. His thirst means that youdrained. And dehydration will reduce performance. Make sure that the players have a water bottle with them at all times and drink from it constantly.

2) Warm-Up

To play your best in every game of the tournament, you have to do an off-ice warm-up. Most teams have a kind of warm-up before hitting the ice, but as the tournament progresses, it becomes much harder to get players excited and agitated for a 10 or 15 minutes routine. A proper off-ice warm-up notneed a long time – try these quick one minutes warm-up sequence before the next tournament game: 20 jumping jacks, 10 squats, 40 knee-high and 10 lunges on each leg. When going through this sequence a few times before you are on your equipment to make a big difference to how you feel when you step on the ice.

3) Stay away from the snack bar

The rink has a snack bar "nutritional wastelands. In general, everything is either fried or packaged. The best solution forTournament is to bring healthy food options with you, but that is not always a realistic option. If you but the fast-food drive-thru before or between games, do need to make sure that you make the healthiest choices possible. Stay away from fried foods to digest – they are hard for the body and can cause an upset stomach during the game. Sugar-filled foods are you going for an immediate uptake of energy, but then you come crashing down and your performance willsuffer. Try the "white foods to avoid," and go for the "whole grain" options that have much more nutritional value.

4) Stretch

Hockey players do not stretch enough. This can be a major problem during the tournament time because of the high volume of high-intensity games. It is unrealistic to expect players to go through a complete stretching routine 20 minutes between matches, which but a few hockey specific stretches of the hip flexors, buttocks and groin isgo a long way to prevent muscle pain and maximize the performance of ice.

Take your time to these 4 buttons on your next tournament address and you will be well on your way to improve the championship trophy overhead.

Is 720p vs 1080i worth is concerned? Yes and no. If you are a consumer looking for a new TV, you're welcome to ignore the 720p vs 1080i debate because every TV which is as HDTV or HDTV-ready described is required to support both formats.

Note: You should be aware though that many TVs which support 1080i have fewer than 1080 lines, and so the scale of 1080 signal down. This is not a huge issue as even scaled down 1080i is far ahead of a regular NTSC signal. It is worth takingthe fact that more expensive HDTV scalers tend to be better than the cheaper ones, and this could be an issue.

For broadcasters, it is a hot topic. Should their programs broadcast 1080 lines of interlaced or 720 lines of progressive scan? They could broadcast two signals, one in every format, but this is to use a large chunk of bandwidth and would be enormously expensive for very little gain.

To answer the question, it is important to understand the difference between 720p vs 1080i. A 720pSignal consists of 720 horizontal lines. Each frame is displayed in its entirety on the screen for 1/30th of a second. This is called progressive scan (hence the "p") know the quality is, as just 30 photographic images per second on TV. A 1080i signal comprises 1080 horizontal lines but all lines are not displayed on the screen simultaneously. Instead, they are interlaced (hence the 'i'), ie, all other facilities will be 1/60th of a second and then display the alternate lines displayed for 1/60tha second. Thus, the frame rate is still 30 frames per second, but each image is divided into two areas, which your brain then puts together subconsciously divided.

Most of the time interlacing works fine, but for fast moving images such as sports like baseball and hockey can be, problems that are as "strengthening" effect on the screen obvious reason. Progressive scan signals do not have this problem and so are better suited to sports.

ESPN has put it: "Progressive ScanTechnology provides better images for the fast-moving direction of sports television. Simply put, with a 104 mph fastball in baseball and 120 mph shots on goal in hockey, the line-by-line basis of progressive scan technology captures better the inherent fast action sports. For ESPN, progressive scan technology makes perfect sense. "

Bottom line? Is not worth it for us as consumers 720p vs 1080i debate a while to help you relax and concentrate on all other criteria, you can guarantee yourList, if you buy your next HDTV.

If your back muscles are occasionally go into spasm, then tractioning could cover some of the tension and help improve this situation.

Traction can be done with simple household items. It is a gentle stretch that creates space between joints. Sometimes only a tiny micrometer of space is everything you need is to remedy the situation. When you compress the nerves, blood supply, muscles and connective tissues are then to create a lot of space to relieve stress.

As traction.
Whenever youfor traction, you should move slowly and cautiously. You want to keep it up to 30 seconds. Sometimes it feels so good that you longer want to hold him to be. Go ahead!

Note: It is important to remember, too slow to release, as you can for the holding of the circuit you tired. The elastic properties of soft tissues are sensitive, so it is important that you do so that they avoid too quick to spring again.

Have you had chronic tension in the back muscles, then raise yourOperating time slowly. Progress up to 30 seconds, and then increase gradually over weeks. You do not want to get a bad case of late pain, one or two days later.

2 simple traction.
First, train upwards. Use a tight scarf or belt. A yoga strap works well.

. Hinlegen Wrap the belt) at the base of your skull (occiput. Pulling against the base upwards against the pull up in your head. You should not press into the neck muscles. The belt should be anchoredagainst the back.

By pulling upward from the top of the spine, your release tension throughout the spine.

Second, rolling on his back on a stability ball. Roll forward and backward and from side to side. Enter supporting your head when you need it.

Practice the ball to stretch often. Once you're familiar, you can use the other route with your traction strap for additional relief.

If your back muscle spasms for several months, or if yousuffered a serious injury to your back, you should consult your orthopedic doctor and physiotherapist.

Why Hockey Speed?

Many people sometimes argue that size is what you need in the sport of hockey. Although this is true to some extent, the size that does not do well if you are not in a position to be a mobile player on the ice. There are only a very few successful "big" players who have absolutely no footwork.

It is absolutely important to realize that hockey is one of the best speed to make investments in training. Speed is needed to build the foundationuntil other skills!

How to Increase Your Speed Hockey

Many people have this vision, the speed can be acquired overnight. This is not the case! When you become a faster skater, then you must be willing to put the time and effort in.

My advice to any player who wants a faster skaters on the ice, is hard hit to the off-ice training! Dryland training is an important component for all hockey players. In addition, focus on plyometrics forincreased speed on the ice.

If you are with what plyometrics are not familiar, they are basically a series of exercises that are jumping on "and" explosive power ". I recommend plyometrics, because it is a safe form of exercise for any age hockey players. They also require little (if any) additional equipment at all!

The focus of training in correlation with dry ice is to target specific muscles, the result of more steps. With steps, which are morepowerful, you will be dramatic improvements in both your acceleration and maximum speed on the ice.

Get a fast skater!
One piece of advice that I can for anyone who wants to offer a fast skater, is to do some off-ice training! It does not matter what age or what level you play. Anyone can take advantage of dryland training.

The main reason why off-ice training is so useful is because muscles that are used regularly, if you play on the ice targets. In order to achieve faster skater, will have to respect some plyometrics look!. ThanCollege level hockey player myself, I can definitely confirm this form of exercise for all ages, regardless of skill level.

When I say all ages, I mean it really! Plyometrics is a safe and preferred method for all hockey players. With plyometrics, there are only (if any) additional equipment required. Most exercises are done without weights, and only rely on yourself weight. This is for the younger players from mites key to the pee-wees. You do not have thisyoung children with weights for security reasons.

Tips, advice and research
To save time, I is a short list includes everything you need to get a faster skater:

1st Strength – You must develop the strength in his legs and core, to more power in your steps. This can be developed in dryland exercises, plyometrics, I would personally recommend that you get the optimal amount of power.

2nd technique – strength you do not mind if you do notthey turn right. Look at it this way: Technology is like a car engine. You need the strength to fuel it, but without the engine, but you will not go anywhere.
