Year after year we spend 8 months of waiting for the most exciting event of the year, Fantasy Football Draft Day! As home to most with food and beer are satisfied, there are some other things that can contribute to a party killer.
Every party has drinks. Drinks can be very important for some players. For true fans a barrel of beer is a great idea to reduce the cost and mess. However, most are partially BYOB type, in this case is very useful to have a cooler for largeput all their drinks in. This will keep all journeys made several to the fridge, the numerous breaks in the design of a case.
Eating is a further need for the party. Finger food such as sandwiches, pizza, cheese and crackers, pretzels, chips and salsa, etc. are great for different reasons. First, there is little time for preparation. Second, allowing these snack foods in the convenience of members of the League, which may also reduce the disturbance, theDraft. When you order, they have sandwiches or pizza, it's a good idea to call ahead and schedule a delivery. Seating is very important part of this is often overlooked. Drafts can take several hours, so it's the best, comfortable seating, such as sofas or reclining.
Above all, make sure that the seats in a way that everyone can see in the league and able to communicate, is established. Moreover, most will come out with a pressure of 'if maybe even portable computers,so it makes sense to a table or similar surface, where you can bring or send their computer.
Some members of your league is probably not in person. While it is relatively easy to set up a conference call between them, is to use Skype with a webcam is a great way to make them feel as if they were at the party, and allow them to communicate with everyone as if they were.
After all, no project of a party without a card project has been completed. Draft cards allow the LeagueCommissioner easy to organize and design. When you buy a board, you do not have information on sloppy writing of your friends or take care to choose a player to double. In addition, all in the league just to see which players will be taken or is available, but the races scouting team. Although there are many sites for the purchase of a board, most of them very simple and boring. To find all fan-tab design, try a design project of FantasyDraft Boards

An NHL veteran, Thibault rarely sees action on the ice unless the Penguins are playing back to back games because of the stunning performance of Fleury over the course of the season. But as his performance in the 2-1 loss to the New York Rangers proved, “T-Bo” isn’t just around to spell the youngster every now and again. The man is here because he is a good goal tender and he can play the game. More importantly, he keeps giving the Penguins the chance to win the game even if they don’t take advantage of it.Against the Rangers Thibault showed that he has almost just as many flops, splits and dives as the youngster he backs up. He pulled out more than his fair share of Fleury-like, last gasp saves to show the crowd he isn’t just filler on a team chocked full of talent.
He’s kept the Penguins in almost every game when he has been called upon to perform. In 20 games for the Pens, Thibault is 6-8-2 with a 2.79 GAA and a .911 save percentage. Fleury, in 59 games, is 35-14-8 with a 2.92 GAA and a .902 save percentage.
Fleury, while spectacular to watch, still has a long way to go to become an elite goal tender with numbers like those. And there is no doubt that there is a good chance that somewhere, sometime come playoffs Fleury will falter and there will be a reason to tap Thibault on the pads an tell him to get in the pipes and give the Penguins a chance to win.
Right now it is shades of how the Penguins needed Ken Wregget to backup Tom Barrasso on their way to the Stanley Cup. Not that the Penguins are definitely Championship material mind you. They still have a lot to prove before I’ll ever make that prediction.

Don’t Blame it on the Rain
From time to time spring weather doesn’t always facilitate field hockey practices out doors. So while the plants may be grateful for a little rain, it can often dampen team spirits as well as throw a wrench into your practicing plans. However don’t let the rain get you down, and use the following field hockey coaching ideas for moving your practices from a soggy field to an indoor gymnasium.
Starting Things off on a Fun Note
The first of my field hockey coaching ideas for relocating practice indoors is to start things off on a fun note. Most players don’t always enjoy the constraints of practicing indoors and in addition players are missing out on the fresh air and sunshine that accompany a practice on a spring afternoon.
So when practices are forced inside because of the weather, I always like to start things off with a game of freeze tag or good old fashioned dodge ball. This will inject some much needed vitality into your players while giving them an excuse to run around and have fun. Plus it’ll get them warmed up for the indoor drills and conditioning exercises.
Drills Done Indoors
The next of my field hockey coaching ideas when moving practices indoors is to implement some new drills that my players haven’t seen before. The following two drills are a great way to utilize the indoor space and get your players practicing their passing and receiving skills.
For the first drill, called the Hook Dribble, two players pass the ball to each other before taking a shot on goal. This drill can be performed with or without a goalkeeper, whichever is easier your situation. Before beginning the drill set up a number of plastic cones just before half court with a path for players to swerve around them. The players are to line up at the center line, with one extra player waiting at the far left around the center line.
To begin with, the player at the front of the line runs with the ball though the cone path. Once they have completed the path, they pass the ball to player 2 who runs in a sharp hook towards the top of the circle and takes the shot on goal. After passing the ball to player 2, player 1 assumes the position at the side of the center line and the next player in line begins the journey around the cones. After players have gotten the hang of it, run this drill quickly to keep players on their toes.
For the next drill, called the rotate forward, you’ll need to set up a cone course on the left side of the court before the half court line. Have all the players line up behind the cones except for one who stands on the left just over the half court line.
At the sound of your whistle, player 1 maneuvers the ball through the cones, then passes to player 2 upon completion. Instead of arcing and shooting like in the previous drill, player 2 passes the ball back to player 1 who turns sharply infield and can either take the shot or pass back to player 2 for the shot. When running this drill, make sure the emphasis is on clean backhand passes at full speed.

With training camp and the start of the season just a few short weeks away, players still have time to develop the “first line fitness” they need to boost their on-ice hockey performance.
If you are going to be a great hockey player, you have to possess extraordinary skills and amazing game-sense. But you must also develop the fitness to be able to consistently showcase those skills in every practice and in every game all season long.
You could have the best one-on-one moves in the world, but if you are struggling to get down the ice at the end of your shifts, your effectiveness will be limited. If you have “fourth-line fitness”, your “first-line skills” will only get you so far.
Ideally, players would be involved in an off-ice training program all summer long to build overtime-dominating fitness, battle-winning strength and game-breaking speed. But life and leisure get in the way, and all of a sudden, you find yourself a few weeks away from the start of the season and you are not in hockey shape.
It is physiologically impossible for young players to get stronger, faster or more powerful in only 4 weeks. The muscular and nervous systems simply cannot make significant changes in that amount of time.
However, the cardiovascular system can adapt much more quickly, which means that it is still possible for players to develop “first line fitness” in only a month.
Players of all ages can use conditioning circuits that combine short sprints and strength exercises to vastly improve their hockey-specific fitness in a relatively short period of time. These high-intensity circuits simulate a shift out on the ice by incorporating both the change of direction and change of body position that is inherent in the game of hockey.
Here is an example of a conditioning circuit that can be used with players during training camp or early in the season:
- Start with 10 push-ups.
- Sprint 20 meters as fast as possible.
- Perform 10 squat jumps.
- Sprint 20 meters back to the start.
- Perform another 10 push-ups.
- Sprint 20 meters.
- Perform 20 meters of walking lunges back to the start.
- Sprint 20 meters.
Perform one round of the circuit and then rest for 3 minutes. Repeat this sequence 3 or 4 more times and you will be well on your way to getting in shape for the in-season.
By developing “first-line fitness” through the off-season, you are putting yourself in a position to excel in training camp and beyond. And when you are a few steps ahead of your competition in September, you can open up an even bigger gap in fitness and performance as the season continues.

If you’re going to have a team that is going to rule on the ice, it’s important that their skating is amazing. The technique and performance of your skaters must be great or your entire team is going to fail. Of course there are some things that can be done to improve the way your team is on the ice. Hockey skating drills can be used to help improve the way your team is skating so they can go on to win victories on the ice. So, here are a few excellent drills to use to improve your team.
Snow Cone
You’ll find these hockey skating drills are excellent for everyone and they will improve speed and stopping. Divide up your team into two different groups and put them in two different corners of the ice. Then take a cone and put it right on the blue line. Then all the players in each team must skate as fast as they can to the blue line, stop hard, pivot around, and then skate back as fast as possible.
Power Starts
If you want to work on powerful starts with your hockey skating drills, the Power Start exercise will work. To do this exercise, you’ll have one player in the front, and then have a second player behind holding on to the first player’s jersey. Then the first player will need to skate to the red line pulling the other player along behind. This is great for working on those starts and building up power in each of your players.
Chasing the Wind Exercise
Another great exercise to use for your team, the Chasing the Wind drill is going to help your players improve their cardio fitness and it will also help them with starting and stopping as well. Start out with all the players on the blue line and then blow the whistle. At this point, the skaters must go to the 2nd blue line and quickly stop. With the next whistle blow they then go on to the red line and stop. The last whistle blow should take them back to the original blue when where they first began. You can make this exercise go faster and faster by decreasing the amount of time that they stop.
Of course there are many great exercises that can help improve the skating of your team. However, these are some great hockey skating drills that will really make a difference in the way that your team skates. Use them enough and you’ll see a drastic improve in the way your teams performs out there on the ice.

After a knee on knee collision with Tim Gleason of the Carolina Hurricanes Alex Ovechkin was suspended for two games. He was also a large and 5 minutes Game Misconduct penalty for kneeling. This is his second Game Misconduct penalty in three games.
He was suspended for two games as a result of the incident. However, Ovechkin said that the knee was unintentional, and that Gleason turned suddenly.
After looking at the play, I kind of have to agree with him, once you are committed, control, it is very difficult to adjust when a player changes direction.
Apparently, the NHL did not see that the same way I did. For me there was nothing malicious about it, but the NHL obviously seen something. I have not heard an explanation from the NHL, but that does not mean they have not given one, I may have missed it (if you have, please leave a comment and let me know what she was saying).
But I do not think that any explanation is going to change my opinion. I looked at the hit, Isaw the play, and there was no chance he was going to knee Gleason.
A lot of people think that Ovechkin knees stuck, but if you look at the record, you will see that Ovechkin was leaning in one hit. He had not saved his knee, he was stuck on the shoulder. You can try to change it with Gleason directions. This supports his story that he tried to do a regular hit.
